hoocha! i'm home.
Jul. 3rd, 2002 10:32 amhome. as bizarre as it is to come home to a place where i'd only been living for one week before i went away for two weeks. but, my shit is here, my girl is here, my cat is here. home.
and i'm happy. really happy. and it feels good. i can think of a number of reasons for this happiness...
- rachael. missed her incredibly. unbelievably. so good to see her, kiss and snuggle her and all that. the love, the love.
- coffee. a large, hot mug of peruvian medium-roasted goodness with a little sugar and a little soy creamer. yeah. so much more satisfying to me than the mini mini spoonful of powerfully flavored espresso that i was drinking daily to fend off the caffeine headaches in europe. i am sure that if i lived there, i could get used to/learn to love coffee that way... well, sort of sure. but... i love the large mug, the mellow flavor, the high caffeine punch of a lighter roast, the half-hour taken to sip it all down... no standing at the bar for me, thanks, i want my coffee with some reading, writing, mellow morning, ease-into-the-day chillness.
- video and card from
starbuckle waiting for me upon arrival. so looking forward to resumed chatting with jenny. and sending her the little something i got for her in venice. kisses to you, girl!
- you all for giving me hours of pervy/funny/random reading to catch up on and a little stack of slashy readings to quench my two weeks worth of slash-thirst. slash-thirst? um... whatever
- feel all optimistic about looking for a job and finishing the unpacking/organizing of the house. this may not last, so i will be sure to enjoy it now.
- yes, i just had a fabulous trip to france and italy. i had i seriously good time. especially in italy. especially siena. had a good time, am glad to be home. wow, so right.
yeah, and other things too. am wondering how much to write about my trip here... would people want to read about it? does that matter? hmmm... might do me good to write about it. help me remember what i did/saw. will ponder this.
for now... gonna read a little and then get ready to go have lunch with rach. somewhere air conditioned. this heat and humidity is completely uncalled for. at least i have a large supply of ice to munch on. why don't europeans like ice anyway? um, yeah. so... right! my jet lagged brain and i were off to some reading. hugs all around to the crazy bunch of you who make up my 'friends.'
