eek! i'm out the door but i had to share this loveliness...

i finally gathered the guts to ask the orchestra director to please call me choir master in the concert program - since a) i've worked my ass off and b) it would be very helpful for resume building. and he just replied with the nicest response:

I was about to e-mail you when I found your message
to me-- I was going to lead off with this, even before
hearing of your modest request re: program billing :
I think you are doing a super job with the choral end
of things and have so much appreciated your hard work
with the singers, your natural musicality, your
attention to detail and your encouraging way with
choristers (not to mention how much yopur singing adds
to things) So there. I would be happy to so
designate your position on the program as you asked.

oh. my heart is warmed. external validation? what?. yeah. that just makes me really happy.


now i'm out the door! looks like i won't make it to the papasan. ::frown:: but soon, ladies. i miss you!

yay! what a perfectly lovely letter! and i say no guilt allowed about feeling happy over external validation. my vote: take the happy from any available source and run with it- especially since people are going to be saying nice things about you, anyway!
