so, now have watched the hp deleted scenes. concluded that it would be a better movie with the scenes. but still... would it be that hard to develop harry as a character? to give the kid something to do besides knit his brown and occasionally look surprised?

[sigh] can't win 'em all ... but my heart always leaps when books manage to be better than their corresponding films. hollywood will not take over the publishing industry -- not yet, at least.

books will survive. yes, this is my prediction. cuz really, you could count on one hand the number of movies that have stood up to the quality of their corresponding books. imho.
