hrm. men (boys?) assembling exercise thingy in the other room seem to be just this side of incompetent. i'm tempted to bust my way in there and get in their way. i'm good at putting things together, right?

i just read 3 pretty ficcies. um, lessee...
[livejournal.com profile] fearlessdiva's ToS drabble, voluptas. so sweet and loverly.
[livejournal.com profile] holographis's cold, but brighter. pretty and sad, like her h/d tends to be. girl does not hate h/d. she's lying.
[livejournal.com profile] zarah5's sadsadsad ever after. broke one of my rules reading this one, but it was worth it, of course.

[edit]: [livejournal.com profile] antheia has me pegged as: angrily repressed with a general demeanor of calm with a seeming good nature. oh my, is it that obvious? *g*

oh my goodness!

oh goodness me. how exciting that they're there. how terrifying that they say such things. i think you should go and show em how it's done!

oh boy, don't let them forget to leave the in-shape certificate for us to redeem!

they just left - in a taxi bc their truck was towed! but no matter, we have a shiny new in-shape machine! it's... well, it's big. and it rocks a little - hi, beloved floors of this house. but i'm sure we can fix that. i may go give it a whirl before work... perhaps i need to read the manual a bit first...

yayay!!!

do make sure it doesn't rock a little, or at all. In something mechanical like that, little rocks/shakes/rattles become bigger ones - it never works the other way round. Bigger ones cause serious wear. Seems like a mysterious presence must have been watching over things - I wonder if the taxi broke down after it left? Do I get to try this thingy? btw, welcome back, glad you had a good time, congrats!

well, that first rocking problem was solved by putting a little book under one of the legs. it's totally our floors - things are uneven everywhere in this house.

but there are other assembly issues. some we've been able to fix... but my analysis leads me to believe that they didn't oil one part well enough... it makes a little noise. to oil it, i'd have to take a big section apart. we're thinking about calling the store and telling them to get someone out here to look at it since we had to pay $50 for that lame attempt at assembly. i mean, really. it took us a few minutes to find and fix some problems, you'd think the people who work for them could have done it.

and yes, you can come over and try it whenever you want.

and thanks!
