i feel the need to share the link to this bizarro-fest as now both [livejournal.com profile] constantine1453 and [livejournal.com profile] annelarissa have pointed it out. and it may, in fact, be the weirdest thing i've ever seen.

it's late and i'm tired. but the day did get better when i finally left the house. i filed. it was thrilling. and then i went to church. first i had a meeting with a person who's on a committee that deals with the minister. they're interviewing staff and members to see how we all think things are going (it's only the minister's third year there). i was very honest. she wasn't surprised. i'm not the first person to say the things i said. good.

i'm feeling sneakily proud of myself. things are busy for my choristers and a couple of them have decided to quit their local community chorus in favor of the church choir. woot, go me. sorry, community chorus guy. now give up and hand over your job, please. also, a guy from that chorus who doesn't go to our church came to rehearsal tonight. to check it out. even if he doesn't stay, it was nice having another tenor who could read. i have a tenor surplus right now. how bizarre is that? what church choir ever has too many tenors? what i really need now are some basses.

so. sirius/remus. i need me some. but, hey, i was going to check out azkaban's lair and it's gone. poof! where'd it go? where am i going to get me my achy-sweet fix? ::needs::

tenor surplus?

bet that makes for an interesting rehearsal dynamic!!

also... yes, i pointed it out. the ohmygodohmygodohmygod rating which it recieved from a trusted source combined with the hobbit reference made it irresistable. but my computer won't play it, and i still don't know what it is!! even describable in words?

(hmm. describablebablebable?)

for you, dear anney, i will attempt to describe it.
picture this: it's the 70s. there are a bunch of early-teenagers wearing brightly colored matching sweatshirts and hobbit ears. they dance around a rocky outdoor set and act as the chorus during the refrain of a song about bilbo baggins which recounts the story of the hobbit. the singer of the song is leonard nimoy.
oh bilbo, bilbo, bilbo baggins - bravest little hobbit of them all
yeah, i think that's enough said.

Um, also, if it's the same version I have somewhere on a tape (a gift from a friend many years ago...)(I haven't listened to the online one yet; still being at work), it's actually William Shatner singing. How much weirder does that make it...?!

hold the phone. it's leonard nimoy lip-synching to william shatner singing? that may be officially the weirdest thing in the entire world.

Goddamn, I need to get home so I can see it! The audio in my head ("Bilbohhh! Bilbo Baggins, bravest little hobbit of them all!!") is keeping me entertained, but there's visuals too?! With Spock?!?! Not like it'll work at my house, but a girl can dream.

And did you really just say "hold the phone"? That's cracking me up as much as the song is! heehee!
