how is it that one week away from church can feel like a lifetime? it feels very strange to be going there this morning. well, many things seem strange this morning. i got very little sleep, due to the pain. which can fuck off right now. i almost got out of bed around 4, when i was convinced i had never felt anything so excruciating and that i would never sleep again. i did sleep more though, and went through the same thing an hour or so later. how many pain killers can you take at once before it's a bad idea? just checking.

i don't really know where yesterday went. i just remember showering around 5 pm. and then camillafarfalla came over later and we all watched some lotr dvd and the french and saunders thing and stuff. [hey camilla - that stuff we were talking about? all is well.] it was good but i was sleepy. don't now why - except that i did so little with my day, maybe i just never woke up.

so, this morning's sermon topic: some assembly required. about people not being perfect and that being ok. just keep on trying, starting again, blah blah blah. we'll sing britten's new year carol and this horrid rutter thing called let's begin again that i pulled out of the files figuring they'd know it by heart like all the other horrid rutter things. but no. appears that no one has sung this particular horrid rutter thing at the church for like 20 years at least. so i actually had to spend time teaching it. this is not right. ::sigh:: but it'll be over with this morning. a sigh of relief will be heard from my general direction directly following the offertory.

how many pain killers can you take at once before it's a bad idea?
My mom has prescribed Motrin pills - anti-inflammatory for her arthritis, I think - that are 800mg, which would be 3 advil tablets (or maybe they're even 1000mg?). She doesn't take them a lot, but when she hurts, they work well and don't seem to be a bad idea. I take 3-4 advil when my arms are bad... as long as it's not a frequent thing, a little more than the written dosage is okay, as far as I can tell. Also I'd say make sure it's an anti-inflammatory, bc if you've got inflammation, that'll do a lot more for you than just pain killer (that's why advil's good).
