where's the fic?

i have made a little list of post-DH fic i would like to read. maybe it's already out there (if so, please tell me). if not, well, i hope it eventually will be. please, add your own ideas to the fic wish-list!



first, a note. i basically see the last chapter (who called it the epilogue of heteronormativity? - you're brilliant) as one possibility. it's not my canon. so, fic i want to read may or may not be compliant with that chapter. it doesn't matter to me. i wouldn't really consider it AU if it only contradicted that chapter. the AUs i talk about are stories that would go against elements of canon presented before the last chapter. and i don't see it as the inevitable end to any story... like if i read harry/draco immediately post-war, i wouldn't actually assume that before he turns 23, harry ditches draco, marries ginny and has a baby. i just can't go there. so. yeah. my personal canon remains a bit more open-ended.

i want to read...

*harry/hermione comfort sex in the tent when ron is gone. wtf??? why do i want this so bad? i have never been into harry/hermione. never. but i wants it. it must be out there, right? who could resist the tent sex?

*trio tent sex would also be nice but i don't crave like i do the aforementioned wrongness of h/h.

*fic about teddy lupin. mostly involving him learning about his father. and more specifically, learning about his father and sirius and how much they loved each other. so, basically, i want sirius/remus with a teddy pov. i don't want tonks washed out of the story, really. i just want someone to write something that will make it all feel better to me. and i think if teddy knew about s/r, it might help a little.

*harry thinking/learning about snape. maybe he goes to his house? his quarters at hogwarts? goes through his things? or, my favorite, goes to draco malfoy and asks him what he knows (i maybe am kind of writing that a little). i just need harry feeling the weight of what snape did for him. for them all. and... i just want more snape. more more more.

*dean reunited with seamus! we know they hugged... then what? injunket was throwing out fantastic bunnies of kidfic-ness where they were both working with traumatized young'uns after the war. omg, i want that.

*luna... something. what happened to luna? i have some ideas. but i want more. i want luna and neville processing. maybe luna/neville but maybe not.

*repentant draco. it's time. it finally really fits with canon. let's have it. it could be harry/draco. or neville/draco. mmm. i like that one.

*ron/hermione - how does it finally happen (if you don't believe they bonked before heading off to grab the basilisk fangs)

*weasley family coping. will george ever be ok? if the answer is yes - and could it possibly be? - then i want to know how. please. tell me.

*neville. he didn't kill bellatrix. is he ok with that? how does he go from where he is to being a professor... he went from little scared neville to warrior. how does he get back to being a herbologist? will he make it badass? or will he enjoy the peace of it?

AU

*remus didn't die. tonks maybe did or maybe didn't. but remus has to raise teddy, to be a father. frequent visits from harry et al would be good.

*snape didn't die. this would probably end up being snape/harry for me. harry still finds out all that stuff. everything snape did. maybe it all goes down exactly like in the book, but snape somehow survives. what would that mean for harry? how would they go one from there?

*harry takes in teddy right away, as his godfather. maybe they live at grimmauld place. maybe they live at the burrow where there's help to raise a kid. he would have to do a lot of thinking about his own parents, his own godfather, about teddy's parents. he would have to decide what to tell teddy about the circumstances of his orphan-ness. i want to know what he would say.

I love that Teddy's name calls to mind the bear that I believe is his Patronus form, like Lupin's and Padfoot's are attached to their wolf and dog. I would love for his story be that he is an animagus and to learn about the Marauders. I love the open-ness of Teddy's canon.

I want more of ivyblossom's rebellious, eyeliner-wearing, war-damaged Ginny, and how she deals with Fred and Percy and how she pushes Harry away after the war, experiments with Muggle living, and is her own hero for a while.

I really want more Percy, reintegrating himself into his family and dealing with his guilt over Fred and the coldness of George and his other siblings.

And I have been thinking so much about Luna- maybe Luna/Hermione or Luna/Neville.

Where did inky talk about her bunnies? Is it in her LJ and I'm just missing it?

I really really really really really really really really really really want to read that Teddy fic. Perhaps him finding out about the events of Making Moony Laugh (+ remix), which is similarly S/R from another POV.

Ooh! Harry as Snape's heir! How does he handle this? What does Snape own? What does he do with the many full bottles of shampoo that Snape received as prank gifts from cruel people, but kept on display (and what motivated that?)?

*raises hand* though i think all of fandom has been saying so in so many words. incidentally, in the post where i said that i also recced copperbadge's the rules of being a godson (http://sam-storyteller.livejournal.com/117432.html), which goes a bit towards satisfying your first teddy scenario. i love, love it and would really be quite happy if everyone wrote teddy this way.

OMG, me too! Whence the sudden craving? Maybe because it was clear that she had to hook up with Ron by the end of the book, so I suddenly wanted her to branch out, try some new things. And would she be ashamed -- would she feel like she was cheating on Ron, or was she so angry with him that she figured he deserved to lose her to Harry? Would she be thinking of Ron the whole time?? I need to know!

I see him as a smart, sexy, badass, Indiana-Jones-type herbologist. Also, I read somewhere that JKR figures Luna went on to study and track strange creatures all over the world, so I want to read a story about Luna & Neville, BFFs, travelling around the world together & having awesome adventures that could possibly involve seducing beautiful women.

And also, of course, I want to read about the Hogwarts Resistance, about Neville and Luna and Ginny and everyone, standing up to the Carrows and secretly being helped by Snape and, you know, I'm just going to point up at anabelwumpkins's post, because she thought of everything already!
