I love Pissy!Fraser picking a quarrel to get a (*cough*) rise out of Ray. Love the nine-year-old's idea of a kiss and then the not-a-nine-year-old's idea of a kiss. And hot, hot, sleeping bag sex. Oh, Ray. Oh, Fraser. I loved Ray's annoyance and Fraser's insistence.
This is really nicely done, and I'm especially impressed that you found a real Inuit story for it. I know how some aboriginal stories can be like this one, they don't completely make sense to someone of another culture, and I totally get that Fraser would tell one like that, which would make Ray go "huh?" Very funny!
And maybe, just maybe it means that Ray's not the only one who had ulterior motives for this so-called adventure. So true. Excellent insight.
The end is poignant and sweet and this...
