Sirius is dead. What Remus does after that doesn't change what came before. The R/S subtext is still there, still the same. There is no R/T in OotP. None. Rowling herself said it was supposed to come out of nowhere. Which makes it bad writing, but whatever. It doesn't invalidate the past.
Do I like it? No. Will I ever not hate that part of the book? No.
But it doesn't change anything, because Sirius was never gonna come back.
