In so far as Marv's story - sure, I can see that.

As to Owen's story - I cannot find fault with a male writer narrating from a male persective. But this man also lets us in on the fact that these women own their own bodies, and protect their own lives, as well as each other - they run the show. In point of fact, they let him help them. Frankly, I found that storyline wonderful, particularly as we live in a society that currently glorifies "pimp culture". Who else was going to betray them? They made it very obvious that they don't really take men into their confidence. And even the woman that he initially protects makes it pretty clear that she can basically defend herself.

Sure, male fantasy is there - it is written, inked, adapted, directed and produced by men. So what was remarkable, from my perspective, was how much respect the women were given. Frankly, the crux of the story, from my viewpoint, is the idea of the people that the rest of society views as "immoral" being the good-guys. Whereas the bad guys come from the church, the police department and politics.
