heheh.
camillafarfalla has galoshes. and will be wearing them when she jumps stalks sees DOM.
i'm absolutely horrified that my weather pixie is wearing a t-shirt. say it with me folks, no-vem-ber. hmph.
so. still a whole lot of ouch going on in the chest area. and, conveniently, laryngitis is making its way through my choir. this is very far from being a good thing.
so i will think about ttt:ee to make myself feel better. i don't think i'll be able to be overly coherent just now, but i'll start with some reasons that i absolutely love it:
-songs - songs are so important in the book, it's good to see more of them. the song of the entwives had me absolutely in tears. the 'come back to me' echoing through the forest. ::clutches heart:: and eowyn's dirge... that scene is just gorgeous. the fiercely strong way she sings when in so much pain is beautiful.
-faramir - i still feel a little tinge of sadness that faramir couldn't just have been the entirely noble character he is in the books. but. i no longer feel angry about the corruption of his character. it all fits together now, makes sense. you can see conflict in him now and recognize that his evil-ness is a struggle for him, that he is, in fact, behaving out of character and he knows it. and it's because his father is such a rat bastard. and i knew they were going to do that and i doubted it would make up for things but then they just did it well enough that it really worked. and the boromir and faramir scenes induced much more heart clutching from me. meep. i love boromir even more now and i didn't think that was possible.
-ents - the ents are so much more sympathetic and deep. there is a much greater sense of their importance and their power. right on.
-frodo/sam - pj so clearly understands their undying love (right, having listened to 'into the west,' i knew that already). the extra scenes add to what was already there. and show more clearly and starkly the rift gollum causes.
-gollum - fucking amazing. i honestly didn't think it could get better. but yes. the bits after osgiliath were heart breaking and perfect.
-gandalf-aragorn chat - i can see why they cut it. gandalf just talks for minutes. and it's straight out of the book and it's one of my favorite little moments - the thought that they have the advantage because sauron doesn't understand that they would try to destroy the ring. and then the 'he is not alone' part. !!! ::happy sigh::
-eowyn - there's just so much more of her. inherently a good thing. more character, more youth (as jenny pointed out). more. good.
and hahaha, in the part when she's talking to aragorn about wanting to fight at helm's deep and she says the others fight at his side "because they love you"
scott: dude, she just outed him!
me: ahahahahahaha!
(i may have added the 'dude' but i felt it belonged there)
ok, that's all i can manage today. i have to start getting ready for work and the long drive now. hoo boy.
