as i was coming back from lunch just now, walking across the boston common, i saw a falcon. a falcon. it was perched on a bench. some people were looking at it. apparently it had just killed a pigeon. no falconer in sight. ? i looked at it for a minute and then decided not to stick around to see if it would poke someone's eyes out with its beak. though my retreat was not as hasty as the one the man with the very small dog beat.
i suppose if you eat pigeons, the common would be a banquet.
in the sermon i'm currently going through, the keywords i've pulled so far are: war, sadness, memorial, battlefield, death. it's chipper, this one.
