mmmmcherries.
have decided not to go see fireworks tonight. i'm more in the mood to stay home with my girls and my family than to sit on the beach and cheer for america. though i usually put aside my feelings about the country and ooh and aah with everyone else. just can't be arsed this year.
in fanfic notes, i have some recs:
twisted by
ivyblossom - contains ootp spoilers. made me cry (like ivy usually does). yes, it is twisted but... in a way that ends up feeling almost sweet. huh. yes, anyway, please read it.
the first chapter of sorting error by
ursule - post-ootp. her summary: It's Harry's seventh year, Voldemort has disappeared, and Ron is Quidditch captain, so everything should be going along swimmingly. Unfortunately, Snape is Head of Hogwarts and Fred and George are officially bankrupt. Even worse things are in store: Percy's trying to teach Hufflepuffs, Ron's not talking to Harry, Hogwarts: a History lied, and there's something very, very wrong with the Sorting Hat. . . it's h/r! good h/r!!! ::choirs of angels singing:: and lots of percy - never a bad thing.
some of the beginnings of the dawn in all its majesty by
fearlessdiva - not ootp spoilery. she says she's unsure of some of this and that it may not make it in to the final story. i hope she doesn't cut much because i loved it. i laughed out loud many times. there's harry/draco and bill/snape - a pairing she makes utterly convincing. witty and interesting and sweet with hints of more great things to come.
mircales by hackthis - i read the hp and x2 (can't get myself to read smallville - some kind of mental block) and they're both gorgeously wistful and understated. also, by
hackthis, feckless, a sequel to git both of which have me drooling for more more more. right now. more!
oh and they might have ootp spoilers i just can't be bothered to think about it anymore.
