went out to dinner with the kids after symposium last night. had some tasty sushi and crazy yummy sake cocktails. mmm. liz didn't come, sadly, because she wasn't feeling well. but we had a lovely time and i got a free drink for my almost-birthday. and before symposium, they gave me a sweet present of a framed bunch of pictures of us all being kooky kids. ♥. anyway, yeah, this is matt and riikka after dinner, having some ice cream from this adorable candy store on pearl street.
2 more highlights of yesterday:
1. going out in the hallway right before rehearsal to close the door and catching a guy from my choir and a guy from another choir having a goodbye smooch. boykissing! omg, so CUTE!
2. my theory prof agreed to be on my committee!!! and how this came about was just as exciting for me. i was having a hermione day in theory class, raising my hand to answer just about every question and even offering up some un-asked for stuff. because... i don't know. because i had spent a while on the homework and i liked my answers. so then after class she asked me how long i had left in my degree and whether i was going to do theory things because, she said, i seem to have a 'natural aptitude.' honestly, i have no intention of doing theory things. but i do want her on my committee and i've been warned many times that she tends to say no. but i just jumped in and asked and she took me over in a corner and whispered that she'd love to but don't spread it around because she often says no. spread it around? me? ::posts to the internet:: i'm just very excited about this.
i seem to recall i had a million other things i wanted to post about. but... um, i can't remember. also, i have to go and shower so i can get to my therapy appointment. what a way to start a birthday, eh?
