Mar. 29th, 2005 01:57 pmoh, lj. if you had a face, i would be tenderly stroking your cheek and telling you how much i miss you, how much i wish i were spending more time with you these days. alas, the world is a cruel place and our fate a tragic one.
in other words, my computer persists in giving me trouble. with occasional help from verizon, who loves to crap out just when i sit down to write important work e-mail.
the computer situation is thus: i have no ac power source. thus, no charge for dc power either. so, i have my mom's spare laptop (yes, she has a spare laptop) which is basically the same as mine and i am using it as a battery charger. this would be a great situation if 1.) my battery were not completely dead - lasting about 5 minutes tops and 2.) her battery were any more than marginally better - i get about an hour out of it per charging. also, she needs her computer back soon. mine can likely be fixed, but at significant cost, no doubt (something for me to think about, since i am constantly bitching about it, calling it a hunk of junk and threatening to toss it out the window. i mean, maybe i should just buy a new battery and start saving up for a new one... hm). also, it will take at least 10 days to get it fixed, or so they tell me at the shop - the one shop in this whole area who is able to fix this particular problem.
so, i'm around, sort of. i'm reading when i have time and not writing much here at the moment, as you can see. one day soon i'll be back and tell you all about my mental voyages of late.
sooner than that, i hope to post some pictures of my totally radical birthday party. like, omigod, wait 'til you see!
maybe i can find you a teaser pic before my battery dies again...

hominidj (he's wearing eyeliner!), madmadharri, annelarissa, scottxwl, camillafarfalla, me, mmm_cake, EB, dancingrain and wildgreentide. they are the best friends ever, as evidenced by the fact that they all came out in public with me, dressed like this. ♥!
