it's another day of tragically tearful yet determined aragorn for me. because, really, who wants to look at an orc every time she sits at her desk? not i. why don't they have an all-good-guys option for these things anyway? bc, let's face it, orcs are ugly. trolls are not so pretty either. and a troll peeking around the corner at frodo in moria is the picture on my monthly lotr calendar for march. ::sigh:: i suppose i could solve this problem by having some other kind of calender. behind me, on the wall opposite my lotr calendar, is the cheeky smile of one of the olsen twins. i have no idea which one. that's rach's calendar. she's a bit freaky, but certainly not as ugly as my troll. (eta: "she" being the olsen twin, not rach. rach, of course, is stunningly gorgeous.)
for those of you who are worried that anney and i were lodged in a snow drift over night, fear not. we didn't go. i drove to her house to pick her up and the usually-5-minute drive took me 20 minutes. and it wasn't easy going. so we sang duets for a few hours and giggled ourselves stupid. wir schlaffen in einem bett!
i will be making a new birthday party poll today too, since the one i made was all wrong. i should be asking when you can't come before i ask when you would prefer to come. and i think i will present an alternate weekend too, to see if one is significantly better than the other. yis.
there have been some excellent suggestions for parties. here are some favorites:
-prom! (still probably my fave)
-contra dancing
-geek!theme party: come as your favorite genre character
-slumber party
-a phin costume party - everyone has to dress up like you (from any era)
-all-breakfast-food-roller-rink-prom! (from
mmm_cake, not that there was any doubt.)
i could combine all of these. a contra dancing, roller skating prom where everyone comes dressed as me-as-a-geek and sleeps over and has breakfast food. sound good?
also... i have many e-mails and comments to respond to but am not likely to get to them 'til late this afternoon. not for lack of love!
