i just want to say:

momenti diversi (part 4)!!!!!!! h/d lives! nay, it thrives. ♥ ♥ ♥

i slept an hour later than i had intended this morning but... it doesn't matter!!! bwahahahahaha!!!! ok, i'm calming down now. just enjoying the simple things. seriously. everything i do, i'm all this is what it's like to cook beans and rice without freaking out. this is what it's like to clean the kitty box without freaking out. this is what it's like to get out of bed without freaking out. it really is much, much better this way.

my reading plans:

1. finish three junes. rach gave it to me for christmas. i'm almost halfway through. it's melancholy and compelling. and has gay boys but so not in my typical romance-y way. pleasant reading, but not in an all-enveloping, think-about-it-all-the-time sort of way.

2. go back to OotP and finish it. i took a break and started reading three junes when i got near 'beyond the veil' and figured, what with all the audition stress, it was a poor time to be reading it. when i finish my current read, i'll go back.

3. the time traveler's wife. everyone i know who has read it loves it. [livejournal.com profile] annelarissa lent me her copy and i can't wait to dig in.

4. the sun, the moon, & the stars, purchased on [livejournal.com profile] minervacat's recommendation.

5. buy babyji. i read about it somewhere (maybe bust?) and it looks very enticing.

i need a reading icon. in fact, i need icons in general. i want some that are not people... just pretty images and things i like. hmm.

mmmdinner. linguine with leeks and artichokes. a new recipe and definitely a keeper. ::rubs tummy::

speaking of tummies. it may just be a sign of my impending 30th birthday, but i honestly do not think the ultra low rise cut looks good on anyone. certainly not on me, as there is a sort of roll around the tummy and sides that pops out over the top of the jeans. not flattering, no. but i don't think even the super-skinny look good in them. can pull them off, maybe, but good? this is clearly a matter of opinion.

that thought brought to you by a brief trip to old navy this afternoon (had time to kill between buying groceries and picking up rach). i actually found some jeans there. they are low rise (not ultra) and they are not stretch! yay. stretch jeans may seem like a good idea for those of us with tummies but in fact, they lack the structure required for a flattering look. but most jeans out there right now are stretch, so i feel lucky to have found this pair.

i didn't get much done today that wasn't cooking or shopping. i think i will choose not to mind. i'm now going to go to the airport to pick up rach's friend because rach is crazy busy with schoolwork and i want her to get some sleep tonight and hey, i'm not practicing for an audition or anything, so why not?

also, i got great mail today. my state income tax refund (filing early rocks!) and a letter from my delinquent recommender assuring me that he sent the recommendation last thursday and all is well. this is very, very good. ::smiles::
