as of yesterday, mmm_cake and i have been together for 6 years. 6 years! if you don't know that she's the best thing that ever happened to me, you probably don't know me very well.

booboo

yesterday, while in line at whole foods, i was getting groceries out of the lower bin of my cart (omg, i love the two-level shopping cart! so much easier to maneuver) and i somehow mashed my finger between the cart and the counter. no big, the kind of klutzy thing i do all the time. but then i felt a little twinge in my finger a few minutes later and looked down and it was HUGE! the area between my first and second knuckles had ballooned hideously. the cashier wondered at my noises of concern but soon revealed that she didn't really care what was up as long as it wasn't the store's fault and i wasn't going to, like, sue them or something. nice. ::glares at evil corporate megachain::

anyway. i lived to tell the tale. i held a frozen breakfast burrito on the drive home and today, my knuckle is purple and the finger's still a little puffy. but all seems to be well.

thank you all for the lovely comments on my little anniversary post. i'm thanking you here because i'm already so completely backlogged on my e-mail that i can't manage a response to every comment. but you are all very sweet. ::kisses::

so. i haven't been reading a whole heck of a lot lately. but i've read some. these recs have been slow in accumulating, and you've probably all already read them and recced them yourselves, but just in case:

-minervacat's three inconsequential kisses (plus one that counts). multiple pairings, sirius-centric. it hurts us, precious, but we loves it.

-various ficlets by callmesandy - many loverly pieces but the most exciting to me, by far, is the seth/ron. that's right. SETH/RON!!! my crossoverish heart is happy.

-addictedkitten wrote some omgHOT! elijah wankfic. wankfic on its own is good enough, but this is more than wankfic. read it and you'll see what i mean.

-and the one i can barely bring myself to write about. the last chapter of hackthis's thousandth man verse. oh, my heart. i can't... i won't even say anything about it. if you haven't read this series yet, i don't have anything to say to you. and if you have read it and you don't feel the way i do... well. how's the weather on your planet?

what's next for me? well, cimorene111's britney/christina british boarding school au, a bit of polish. who could resist? and then everyone and her cat has been reccing that could have been the beginning of the end if i wasn't already in the middle so i guess i'd better get to it.
