wtf? lj just ate my post. ::growls::

oops. nope. here it is:

i'm in the process of catching up on yesterday's flist but mostly right now, i'm thinking owfuck, cramps. damnit. i require painkillers. and food. elch.

whew. ok. now i've done the skimmiest skimming of my flist by way of catching up. some things to read that will have to wait a bit.

so. baby! i got to spend large amounts of time yesterday playing with her and looking at her and oh my goodness, she is so beautiful. and she is enamored with rach's care bear slippers - which i have been wearing about the (cold) house. i am all a-swoon about her.

also yesterday i was therapized and lysimache and i got together some christmas-y tunes to sing today at the church fair. i already forget where the stresses fall in that lj name... fortunately, i will see her in a mere hour or so and can ask again. singing is good. i think today will be fun. (::knock knock::)

winterfic

it snowed here all day yesterday. it's was pretty and made me feel calm(ish) and happy. and it made me want to read seasonally appropriate fic. i don't really have time right this moment for that, but i would love to collect some links to do the reading later.

the way of the world by zionsstarfish. if you haven't read this yet... i don't know. i just feel a little sorry for you. it's the most beautiful of beautiful winter-y stories. solemn and sad but sweet and hopeful. and every little detail is so clear and so important. possibly my favorite fic of all time.

this wanton snow by musesfool. short scenes from winters over the years. the changes in sirius feel so true and so heartbreaking.

LOTRIPS:
as the snow falls by camillafarfalla. elijah, gen-ish. this beautiful fic captures that feeling - thrilling and calming and hopeful and melancholy - of snow, especially snow in the city.

DARK IS RISING
while shepherds watched by ashkitty. she calls this 'sap' in her summary and... maybe so. but it's the best kind of sap, then. comforting and lovely.
