phineasjones: (edge of night (cimorene))
unlike [livejournal.com profile] starbuckle, i have no trouble breaking a pattern of early rising and remaining fast asleep until 9:30 as soon as i have the opportunity. not a problem. ahhh. and it's nice out today! sunny at the moment, and not too hot at all. alxamdulilaah.

last night [livejournal.com profile] annelarissa and [livejournal.com profile] scottxwl rescued me from a night of woefully refreshing a quiet lj by inviting me over for un-milkshakes, popcorn and the movie honey. which was a pleasantly silly few hours of entertainment. and then [livejournal.com profile] starbuckle came home and we read each other's stories that we will be beta-ing for each other. it's a rough thing, folks, to sit there in the room with someone reading something you wrote. fortunately, we're cool like that and we can handle it. apparently not entirely cool though, as both of our stories include being overheated and requiring cooling charms. hmmm has it been hot here in noho, you think?

omg! [livejournal.com profile] fearlessdiva's comiccon report on things re: rotk ee had me squeeing this morning. you so want to read this. SPOILERS FOR ROTK EE. which, really, is the point.

also, any soundtrack geeks should really know this. and maybe you already do. but just in case. i found it while poking around trying to find as much info as i could about the lotr symphony. i'm just dying to know which music is in these 6 movements. i really hope, from a choral perspective, that the part at the end of rotk when the tower falls is in it. it's such a glorious moment - musically and otherwise. ::sigh::

and now i had to go listen to that moment and omg, it brings up another issue i've been pondering. i have never listened to some of this music without crying. this could be a problem.

authors of the sirius/remus TextSlash have been revealed. as far as possible.

if you enjoyed [livejournal.com profile] musesfool's and [livejournal.com profile] jjtaylor's text series, it wouldn't be a bad idea to leave them a little feedback - on that post (i'll make sure they get it) or in their ljs. just a friendly thought for you. :)

and the winners from yesterday (yes, it's another tie) are...

Their bodies, though wasted by the pressure of closed rooms, by the cycling of the moon, fit together with the awkward grace of consolation. by [livejournal.com profile] fuschia

and

Sirius looked at the lump of hair in his hand. "Why were you wearing a false mustache?" "The better to tickle you!" cried Remus, nuzzling him. by [livejournal.com profile] scottxwl

if [livejournal.com profile] scottxwl, keeps this up, i'm going to have to buy him a car or something. :) let me know what you two want as prizes.

next challenge will be on monday morning and i have lots of fun suggestions from a couple people. but if you ever have the thought, hey, that would make a great TextSlash challenge, drop me a line. i want to be keeping it fresh for you all.
