i was going to sit down here and write about the intense pain in my shoulder (i don't know, i guess i slept funny or something) but now i see that my flist is full of shoulder pain this morning. how odd. so, that's all i'll say.

instead of detailing the pain, i will focus on the positive and wish the most gloriously happy of birthdays to prillalar and ashkitty. may this year bring you much happiness.

and also, a belated happy birthday to jacito. i'm singing to you now, though i imagine it's a little hard to hear from where you are.

i used to be good at keeping up with birthdays. and then i started to suck at it. perhaps i will try to get back on that train.

i'm still feeling so happy about the golden globes last night. huge thanks to my mom, bc i had forgotten about them entirely and she called me up to tell me howard shore was on. it's nice to see people getting things they deserve. and it doesn't happen all that often.

now tell me, (and glitterdemon had a similar thought) was nicole kidman three sheets to the wind or is that just what she's like?

in true hobbity form, prillalar has given us all a present on her birthday. a surfeit of honours. adorably fluffy merry/pippin. i was in a fine mood before i read it and now i'm practically giddy. highly recommended.

yoga has slightly eased the pain in my shoulder. thanks, yoga. and now i'll try to be a good little doobie and tackle that to do list.

well. it was a pretty darned good day. i only made it through half my to do list, but it was rather an overambitious list, so i think that's ok. i did manage to clean the house - down to washing floors and all, go to the bank, do some filling and organizing, write some letters, send some other important mail, practice, and shop for groceries. and then make dinner and watch 'the l word' with rach. i thought, 'eh.' it wasn't actually as bad as i feared it would be based on some other people's negative reactions. i think it was a better pilot than the QaF pilot. but that's not much of a standard, imo. generally, i shrug, but i'll keep watching as long as my mom keeps taping it for me. (hee, i did have a hard time with jennifer beals though, having watched flashdance about 600 times in my preteen years.)

i got a ttt weekly calendar for christmas and i've propped it up on the corner of my desk so i can see the pictures. this week's is of arwen, the 'tell me what you have seen' bit that actually ended up in rotk. and i just have to say damn is that woman pretty. and the color she's wearing in those scenes is amazing on her. and that's a pretty dress too. yes. that's all.'
