Oct. 26th, 2003 06:43 amaw, man. i always do this. i've been up for well over an hour but i've been toobing around and now i'm going to have to rush to get ready. ::sigh:: whatever.
so. i wasn't on the computer, like, at all yesterday. eek. rach's friends C, K and D visited - with K and D's 7 week old baby, diego. the baby was much cuteness. all he did the entire time there were here was sleep and eat. oh, and poop. i guess that's what they do, babies. it was nice to see them all though and we took advantage of the gorgeous day and walked into town for lunch.
when they left in the evening, rach and i did our grocery shopping and had a very quiet night. ahhh. i'm very excited for this time change induced extra hour of sleep thing. i want that every sunday morning.
friday night was
pritchkate's birthday party. it was quite lovely. good friends, tasty treats, a happy miss kate. the highlight for me was definitely when i was playing around on
holdenrevisted's violin and picked out the fellowship theme.
starbuckle remembered that she knew it on the piano and ran over to the keyboard and lo, we were even in the same key.
tones23 hopped on his drum set and we had quite the exciting dance-able fellowship theme moment. so fun. and this was followed by much more playing around with the music and kate playing her guitar and singing for us. what a beautiful voice!
so today. we have a guest preacher. someone from high up in the uua (unitarian universalist association, for you heathens). i know nothing about her or what she's going to say except that her sermon is called, in ancient times, all lands were one and the capital campaign people are going to be trying to get everyone to give them money and lots of it. music for today will be durufle's ubi caritas which i don't think i could possibly love any more than i do. the chorus is doing just ok on it right now though, sadly. they did it a year or so ago and it was better then. and we're singing a piece by a guy in the choir which is eh, but it's all about church pride/aren't we great? give us money.
