watched angel last night with scott, anney, kate, laura, R and E. i don't think i have anything to say about angel that hasn't already been said by everyone else on my flist. i enjoyed it. and i think the alternate title to the show should be something like Pandering to Slashers.

my clothing purchases of late have involved somewhat high-wasted pants. this takes some getting used to. i went in this direction for a couple reasons - a) i wanted to look a bit more like a grown up and b) i'm sick of having to yank up my pants every time i stand up or move around. i can't stand the super low waist look and i am just tired of the regular low waist. it's time for a change, people. also, my new pants won't be as likely to reveal the belly button ring when we stretch in choir.

and today i have a fashion dilemma. it's chilly enough that i could wear my new fall coat - knee length and corduroy and i lovelovelove it. but... am i jumping the gun? will it look like i have a new coat i'm desperate to wear? or will it just look season-appropriate? ::frets:: really, i don't want to wait too long, bc then the fall weather will be over and the coat will go away for a whole year. meep. and, i'll have you know, i think of this as my remus coat. yes. remus/corduroy is my new otp. and this coat totally looks like something a fanart remus would wear - long, slightly belled sleeves, wide collar, knee length and slightly fitted at the waist. my remus wouldn't actually wear something so girly but the corduroy coat in general, i feel, would be right up his proverbial alley.

[livejournal.com profile] camillafarfalla said this to me yesterday:

I just realized, laughing my ass off reading this, how very calm and controlled and low-key you are on lj. Which in itself is funny to me. Not to say that you're not that way in rl, of course, but your ljfandom-freakouts are fairly rare, I feel. In comparison to your level of squee when, say, we're on the phone. Man, so all these people in lj-land think that you're all composed and poised about fandom. ::snorts::

composed and poised? i actually think that i do come off as a crazy, raving fangirl on lj... so does that mean i'm even more insane in rl? damn.

i took the big five personality test and let's just say it boils down to this: Overall, you scored highest on Friendliness and lowest on Emotional Stability. yeah.

an open letter:

dear sinuses,

do you think you could let me stop sneezing for, oh say, five minutes? please? pretty, pretty please?

at your mercy,
phin

::sneezes:: well, that answers that then.

my boss at church #2 won't be in the office tomorrow so i've made the decision to come straight back from boston in the a.m. and work from home. this absolutely delights me. it solves issues of buffy night preparation, rush hour traffic and office drone boredom all at once. ahhhh. brilliant.

i've started reading home town by tracy kidder. it's all about noho and i like noho so... yeah, but it's just not very good so far. the narrative is clunky. i would rather read a straight up history than this attempt to see through the eyes of one resident thingy. and, how is it supposed to hold my interest when there's no slash? actually, i imagine at some point, there will be plenty of girl-lovin'. this is noho, after all.

lala, off to points east!
