i wish i could lie convincingly to my own tummy... there there tummy, no! no, of course we didn't consume mass amounts of guacamole and other highly garlicky foods last night! that's crazy talk. what? gin? why would i drink alcoholic beverages the night before i had to be up at 5 in the morning? silly tummy. i try, but it doesn't seem to believe me. ::holds tummy::
fortunately, i was not the only one at
pritchkate,
holdenrevisted and
tones23's party last night who consumed many garlicky foods. otherwise i suspect it would have been a rather lonely party for me. instead it was a very fun time. good people, good eats. yay. i enjoyed meeting their friends. especially the geeky ones of course.
bwilder was verra verra entertaining. and i think we might have mildly frightened the middle aged gay couple when we (very enthusiastically) tried to explain slash to them. they were cute about it but mostly clueless about fannish things. and it occurred to me that i don't think i've been in the position of explaining slash to gay men before. interesting dynamic. i think it would weird me out more if i weren't a gay woman myself. but it's still weird.
harrimad_sol is asleep in the living room. sadly, i'll only see her for a moment as i wake her up and leave for the points east. but i printed her out some of
cimorene111's karggo to read before sleep last night so she should be having pleasant dreams. (and btw cim, you've done it again - last week when i first gave her some of your karggo she was like, ooohhh! now i get the rps thing!)
and church. today's sermon topic is 'this wondrous between' - something about interim ministry. my first chance to hear a real sermon by the new minister. we're singing some of my favorite anthems - wondrous love and my lord, what a morning (h.t. burleigh arrangement - as if there were any other). mmm. gorgeous music that the choir does pretty darn well, if i do say so myself. and look! i do!
