i've been up for long enough that it should be lighter out, i feel. does this mean it's a bad weather day? pooh. i have walking to do.

because i am gainfully employed for the day. yeehaw. more of the same temp work from before the holiday. lovely. lovely and boring.

and i'm tired. possibly because we decided it was a good idea to set up the new dvd player when i got home from rehearsal last night... and we ended up watching the first two episodes of buffy and an episode of the simpsons. i was asleep before that ended. but yay for the dvd player. better than the laptop in so many ways. whee!

i am in love with the new coffee maker. like the lord for mary, it has done great things for me. um. hmm. yeah.

omg i'm dying of boredom. not lacking for things to do - they're just all
boring. want to go home and work on next harry/ron which is almost ready for
posting! whee!!!

the good news of the day: my employer has decided that my current work is
somehow harder than filing thus has upped my pay to $15/hour. woot. this is
the life.

also, have i mentioned lately? frodo and sam. also, i've been thinking, sam
and frodo.

the other day someone quoted someone else in a post on athelingas - 'there are no straight men, there are only men who have yet to meet legolas.' that gave me a little chuckle.

and made it funnier to get this e-mail from my friend allan today:

i ain't wearing no purple

i am an 84 year old lady.
i wore high heeled boots last night. today, i sat for hours next to a drafty window as the wet cold storm set in. by the time i left work, my knee hurt so much i almost cried while walking to the T stop. it hasn't stopped. but now i have sympathetic pains in my hip and ankle.

meh. i'm unimpressed. it hurts. this is a recurring problem - the knee pain - but it doesn't happen much lately and it's never been quite this intense. ow. owowowowow. my little heatable bag of corn helps some.

the pain and the inexplicable exhaustion are making me useless. except i'm still good at watching buffy. did some of that with rach and monkey. now rach is making cream cheese (tofu, that is) coffee cake braid. she is all kinds of inspired today. she also insulated all 4 windows in our bedroom tonight - which resulted in a temperature increase of about 10 degrees. this is of the good.

oh, also, very pleased that a women in my choir who went to london for a week returned with a copy of PoA for me. lovely woman, she is. and now i have an excuse to read it yet again. if i can ever get beyond the council of elrond on through the next two books. i'm such a girl... merely reading the first description of boromir made me tear up on the train this morning.
